What is an adjustment?
Adjustment (noun): a small alteration or movement made to achieve a desired fit, appearance or result. A chiropractic adjustment does just that—except it is in your bones. An adjustment is where a chiropractor applies a specific amount force in a specific direction to move joints and bones into their normal positions. Adjustments are mean to normalize spinal function and help to restore the body’s natural healing. Adjustments also help to reduce subluxations and increased the range of motion. Adjustments are a great way to relieve back pain, neck pain and headaches.

Is it safe?
Yes! Chiropractic adjustments are very safe, and could benefit anyone from an infant to an elderly person.

Will it hurt?
Adjustments don’t cause discomfort. Most of the time, an adjustment will produce a calming or relieving feeling. A patient may experience discomfort if the muscles are tight around the area being adjusted, but this can be relieved with ice or heat and electrical stimulation to the muscles. Some patients do experience an audible release of gas between the joints, which is the ‘cracking’ noise that can come along with adjustments.
